The first attempt I made at Princess Peach was a full body version, about 4 inches high.... and ugly as sin. Really, I have no idea what happened, they just turned out soooo bad.... And then I made this one, which makes me really happy :D

It's plastic canvas, so it takes the same kind of motor and crafty skills that cross stitching does. I take the screenshot, plot it out on graph paper, cut out a piece of plastic canvas from my sketch, and spend a few hours grumbling about colour changes with the yarn! I find it a bit easier than cross stitching, because even though it's a pain to cut out the pieces and figure out the size and shape for everything, using plastic is much more forgiving than a flimsy piece of fabric.
