Etsy is my new favorite place :)

Tue Nov 4, 2008, 6:04 PM
I just found a freaking awesome new site. I'd been having problems finding a decent medium to sell my Little Dudes online, but a friend of mine stumbled across Etsy, and I have to say... I've spent waaaay too much money there! It's all for hand-made stuff, and there's even a section called Geekery! Dude!

My site there is [link] if anyone is interested in buying any of my Little Dudes. As I have to pay for each item posted, whether they sell or not, I'm only going to start with a few Final Fantasy characters until I'm certain it's worth the money. But, hey, if anyone definitely wants any of the 2D figures I've posted pictures of up here, email me at nekorequest@hotmail.com and I'll pop it onto my Etsy store :D

Off to search through more Geekery .... YAY!

G-Anime

Fri Oct 17, 2008, 6:56 PM
With the wedding coming up, really don't have time to make it to Chibi-Cubed. The next convention I'll be at is G-Anime, in Gatineau (really close to Ottawa). I'm on the staff for G-Anime, which is incredibly cool. I've volunteered to make a few pieces for some of the prizes for a scattered couple of contests. Ooh, plus I've got my hand in the AMV contest, YAY!!

Coming soon (still...) is Sumomo, and more random Pokemon.

Another season, another convention

Anime North was very cool, but it had the same problems that it has every year. Whatever, no surprise anymore, it's more about the people, the social thing, and the awesome deals at the Dealer's Room.

Otakuthon in Montreal is coming up, and I was able to get a table in the Artists' Area there, so I've been working hard to get a few new figures out. I've been trying to perfect a Tonberry, and I think I'm happy with it now (picture coming to my profile soon!). Next, I'm thinking Sumomo from Chobits, and Ryo-Ohki from the Tenchi serieses.... :D

Other than that, there's the usual circuits of the SOAP parties in Ottawa, and keeping up with the website. Oh, and a friend of mine is sooo excited over the Companion Cube that I'm making her a giant 3D one for her birthday. Only a few weeks left to finish it, so I may have to put Sumomo on the back-burner until I finish the present.

Getting closer!

Getting closer to Anime North, so excited! I'm thinking about putting blue in my hair this time around, to go with the Gamer Girl costume.

I wish my brother would get back from his random road trip soon, because he borrowed my camera, and I've done a few new figures since he left and I want to put them up! In the meantime, I'm doing this Star Fox set, with four of the main characters in a square portrait-style thing. I finished Falco yesterday, and he looks awesome! I'll finish sketching out the other two today, so that hopefully by the time he gets back I've got the whole set.

Other than that, and perfecting the Chocobo I've been attempting, that'll be all the new stuff I'll likely do before AN, and I'll start like mad again afterward making new figures, doing the commissions. Probably won't really try to work on any more Final Fantasy stuff until afterward....

Food now, waffles are calling me :)

New here!

I've been visiting deviantART for ages, but didn't actually think of posting pictures of my own Little Dudes, which is what I call the needlepoint figures. (I used to call them Cutesies, but as I only ever referred to them as 'the little dudes', I changed the name)

I did much better than I expected to, having a table at Artists' Alley at AC3 in Ottawa last November, so I made up a full website with pictures of everything on it. More recently (as in, in the last week), I sorted out the HTML jungle with PayPal, and now I have one of those funky cool 'Add to Shopping Cart' things for all the 2D figures on the site, which amuses the heck out of me! I'll have some stuff at a friend's table at Anime North in Toronto in May, but other than that, I have the best costume idea ever. I will be Gamer Girl, and I will be wearing a cape and possible a Zorro-esque mask.... and I will have over 50 of the Little Dudes somehow attached to my costume. I haven't decided whether I'll just use safety pins, or in case it rains or I get into a to-the-death battle (you never know!), I could attach ziplock-type bags to the costume and put the Little Dudes in the bags. That way, it'll be easier to rearrange them if I decide that, say, I don't want a Frog Mario on my shoulder but on my knee, it's not like I'll be bending the safety pins out of shape from moving my ... decoration everywhere.

Then again, if I have them in little bags, I will likely make shuffling and crackling sounds wherever I go... Humm, this costume requires more thought... And definite pre-planning!
